Surely enough books have been written on the subject of Photoshop® to satisfy the most avid digital imager? Sadly this is far from the case – most books, excellent though they may be, are directed primarily towards professionals, who are not necessarily photographers, wishing to produce commercial images or Web content. They have little interest in, or knowledge of, ‘darkroom’ work and no desire to produce ‘artistic’ images. True, the occasional line in a book may touch on a specific issue, but rarely is a full explanation or ‘work through’ given. Book 1 'How to Achieve Near Perfection in Image Adjustment in Photoshop®' is based primarily on Photoshop® 6, but is equally applicable to 5.0, 5.5, 7.0 and CS, and is the sequel to Eddy's previous book 'Aspects of Photoshop® 5 for Photographers'. 90 fully illustrated pages, including many screen grabs, cover most aspects of Image Adjustment on a 'click by click' basis from the basics through to advanced techniques. A section of the eBook is devoted to the production of high quality monochrome images from colour originals. Some of the techniques described will not be found in any other book on Photoshop® . Book 2 'Techniques for Creativity in Photoshop® ' is based on Photoshop® 6, 7 and CS. 124 pages cover many of the techniques required to express creativity such as Cutting Out, Manipulating and Creating Shadows and Montaging. Some further aspects of Image Adjustment are included together with sections on Scanning, Printing, Essential Shortcuts and Short Tips. As in Book 1 each technique is described in a clear and concise manner with each stage of the process clearly illustrated with screen grabs. Each eBook is presented, in English, on a CD as a PDF document (Adobe® Acrobat Reader™ required) and as a Word 2000 for PC document. The PDF version of the eBook may be installed on the computer by running the Setup program to be found on each CD - uninstall is available.
